Gastrin level

My gastrin level, tested 2 weeks ago, is 3,565.  I was diagnosed with Gastric Atrophy in 2007 and have since been on monthly B-12 shots, which broght the level down to 2800.  What does this high level of gastrin do to my body?

Gastrin is one of the normal hormones that stimulates the production of acid in the stomach. With too much, a person can be predisposed to rather severe peptic ulcer problems. The level you have is very, very high. You need to have this checked out further since it can have several causes one of which is Zollinger-Ellison syndrome which should be ruled out.
