Gastritis?

by Lindseystaff, Apr 23, 2008 10:51AM
So I have read about some people's similar experiences and wanted to see if this has happened to anyone before and if you had the same diagnosis....
I had been taking alot of ibuprofin for the past maybe....4-5 months for headaches...maybe 3-4 pills every 4 hrs maybe every couple days... anyhow one night I had a couple drinks and ended up throwing up about 10 min. after drinking them and had the worst cramped tight feeling in my upper abdomen the whole night and morning.  It hurt so bad I could barely breathe and could not move.  Went to the ER and they said flu.  Anyhow I could not eat ANYTHING for the next 5 days, was still throwing up all 5 of the days anytime I had tried to eat even a cracker....lost 6 pounds...Went back to my doctor becuase the pain was still there and it was a burning that seemed to go right through to my back.  The pain never felt burning before..Anyhow, it was a week later and i was still having the uncomfortable gripping pain in my upper abdomen.  I was taking prilosec (omeprazole) since the ER day and seems to have gotten better...no throwing up...but i still get the abdomen pain, not so much burning anymore but just like it's full and someone is squeezing it..almost crampy.  The other day I drank coffee and the pain started back up all day, and I also had chest pain as well.  It has been 2 1/2 weeks since this started and I'm still having problems with it.... I had an ultrasound on my gallbladder, liver and pancreas since I went back to my primary doctor 5 days after the ER and that was fine.  They also did an H.pylori test and that was fine.  The only thing that came back off was first bloodtest my WBC was low.  The second test (when i did the H. pylori test) came back showing the WBC to be fine but then the RBC was low.  ????  Does this even make sense?

This discussion is related to Abdominal Discomfort persists even after tests came back clean..
