Gastro Help

I have been suffering from constant belching, and gas for almost 4 months now. It seemed almost as if it started overnight. It is much worse when i over eat and eat certain foods. (which seems like every kind of food). It seems to be much worse at night , especially when I eat at a later hour. The belching sometimes reaches the point of throwing up. it seems as if my food is not being digested and just sitting in the upper part of my stomach. I went to the doctor and he prescribed me Prilosec, which I took for 2 months. This helped a little but not much. Then prescribed Protonix which did not help much either. I have also tried natural remidies like DGL and cool Cayanne which did not help. I have almost reached a point of hopelessness . I have lost too much sleep due to nausea and gas. If anyone has any advice or help please respond. thank you!

You've answered some of your own questions.  If over-eating causes you problems, then make a point to not over-eat, it will ease your symptoms and make you healthier in the long run.  Don't eat late at night, as when you lie down your more apt to have this problem, and always have your head elevated at night.  You need to look at what you are eating that is causing the gas, as food is usually the culprit.  Eliminate one food at a time to see if your symptoms improve, if they do then you've found one of the problems, if not add it back in and try another food.  A lot of us have had to do this for various reasons.  I also think you should try an antacid & antigas medication.  One that is very good is "Maalox Advanced Maximum Strength" antacid and anti gas, plus it helps with bloating, pressure, and indigestion. This is an over the counter medication. Hope this helps.
