The doc was not concerned about the liver cysts since they were tiny and later blood tests did not result in any liver problems. However, he did refer me to a Gastroenterologist for the gallbladder issue since he knows I have suffered from stomach issues my whole life but it's never been unmanageable or a constant. I have simplySimply sleep learned to controlControl Control rx it by staying away from things I know will upset my stomach like greasy, fattyXanthoma, oily- basically fried foots in a nutshell, and for some reason coffee can sometimes cause tremendous pain, as is the case this very moment. I should mention that the stomach issue (along with some newly created bowel problems) have been aggrevated since my 5 month old son was born. While I'm waiting for my referal, can someone advise me as to what I can do to control the pain when I stray from my diet? Is there anything over the counter or a natural rememdy that might help me? The only thing I try to do when I get this way is drink lots of water, some tums, and if possible sleep. When it gets really bad I actually make myself "spit up" and what comes up is usually the oil. I know it's not the healthiest thing for me to force my body to reflux like that but that small amount of "spit up" actually relives a lot of the pain. Any suggestions, or questions I should have ready for my specialist vist would be greatly appreciated? The doc also mentioned the possiblity of surgery which has me mortified. I have two small children that depend on me and I can not afford to be unvavialable to their needs. Has any doc out there ever seen a patient that was able to recover from gallbladder polyps/stones without surgery? If it turns out surgery is in my case, the only option then I will do what is best but I just want to see if the possibiliy of other options exist at this point.
Thank you in advance for your professional perspective.
