Gastroenterology...specifically GERD

Had occasional nighttime chest burning...and mild chest ache, usually while lying down. Dr prescribed Nexium...have taken for 4 weeks...no burning, but just slight nausea in stomach...Lots of Post Nasal drip due to allergy (treated with shots) and sinus infections (last year)....Gastroenterologist tried to do endoscopy, could not get scope into esophagus due to tightness (spasm?).....did Barium swallow, says result shows cracopharyngeus alagasia (sp) ....has gone on vacation for 3 weeks...please advise if anything more should be done..is there a "next step" to this?? How long does nexium take to work, and will it help? Can swallow, just not large pills. Thank you.
