Gastroparesis

by Babymommom, Jul 29, 2008 04:01PM
Food is my enemy.  I am a 66 yr old female who has suffered after eating for well over 40 years.  I was finally diagnosed with gastroparesis 3 years ago. I also have IBS with diarrhea, a hiatial hernia, gerd, regurgitation, gastritis naseau. etc,  My stomach emptying rate is 2% after an hour's time.  Needless to say, If I had a dollar for every hour that I have endured, I could buy a small country. This has impacted my life in that I must stay close to home.  I've had to give up traveling, for what traveling companion would understand why you are throwing up all night, and have exploding diarrhea in the morning, causing you to miss the tour bus?  Through trial and error, I have learned what foods and circumstances trigger my attacks, tho sometimes there is no rhyme nor reason for them. I would love to hear from anyone who copes with this horrible condition, if only to know that I am not such a freak of my own body. Much gratefulness to any that respond.
