Gastroporesis

My husband has been diagnosed with Gastroporesis but the doctors cannot seem to get it under control. He is constantly feeling sick to his stomach with terrible pain in the center of his abdomin. My question, is there something else that could be the cause of his symptoms? Is there some other explanation for his illness?  Any advice would be helpful. He has had every imaginable test including but not limited to: endoscopy, MRI, CT Scan, Blood test, gastric emptying, Meckles Test, 24 hour Urine test, MRCP Test, and CT Enteroclysis. They also took his gall bladder with the "hope" that was the problem, it wasn't. All test mentioned above came back within normal ranges.

Thank you, Pena

Did he have the 4 hour emptying scan or the 2 hour one?  If it was the 4 hour one and it came back normal then he doesn't have gastroparesis and the doctors need to search for something else.  Good luck.

My thoughts exactly. They basically assume that because he is a diabetic that it is gastroparesis. He is scheduled to have another gastric emptying test in the next week or so as our new specialist isn't convinced that is the problem. Lets hope that they can finally determine the cause for his symptoms. Thanks for the response.

I'm confused how they diagnosed him with gastroparesis if his gastric emptying test came back within normal ranges.  If his gastric emptying test came back within normal ranges then he does not have gastroparesis.
