General Anesthesia for Colonoscopy?

General Anesthesia for Colonoscopy?

Hi all

I am going for my 3rd colonoscopy the 28th of this month. The last time I had one, I lost consciousness or passed out due to low blood pressure when they injected me with the conscious sedating drugs. I believe they used versed and valium. The doctor said it was due to dehydration! Wow, I figure everyone is dehydrated to some extent after the "night before" ordeal.....

The first colonoscopy was done by a different doctor, and I had no problems with conscious sedation at all.

The last time I went under general anesthesia (sinus surgery), I had a very bad experience when I tried to breathe on my own.

Any opinions would really be appreciated. Thanks all very much,

Jack
