Gluten and autism

by chemeco, Oct 18, 1998 12:00AM

I have recently found information regarding gluten-free and dairy-free diet as a therapy for autism.  Related to absorption of peptides, blood-brain barrier, and possible interference with neuropeptides.  Any body here ever run across this?  Can't hurt to try it?  The child in question is 3 year old male, urine loaded with protein.  Interested in any input.  Thanks.
Dear Chemeco,
I am not aware of this information. However, the Gastroenterology Forum no longer has the availability of a pediatric gastroenterologist. You may want to post this message in the Maternal/Child Forum.
