Gnawing pain

Gnawing pain

I am a woman, in my mid 50's. I have been getting a constant gnawing pain in my upper abdomen, for aproximately 3 months. This is accompanied by 'premature fullness' when eating, nausea, and often, acid reflux too. My bowel habits have also changed. Before, I would 'go' once a day, regularly.... now it's 2 or 3 times.... and it never feels I have 'completed' the motion.
I went to a doctor recently, and was tested for H.Pylori, which showed negative. But.. I was diagnosed as hypothyroid, and have been taking Thyroxine for the last 3 weeks.
Also, during the past year, I have been in many stressful situations, now resolved. I was taking Aspirin for headaches for approximately 3 months, on a fairly regular basis, but stopped about 4 months ago.
The doctor reccommended I take 40mg Prilosec daily, but it doesn't appear to have helped much, after 4 weeks.
The doctor is reluctant to prescribe Metaclopramide, but I think my symptoms may be related to gastroparesis due to the hypothyroidism.
I have no health insurance, and cannot afford expensive investigations right now, I wondered if you have any ideas, as the situation is making me totally miserable, and I would love to get back to normal.
