Firstly, yes 3 years... symptoms worsening from year one to present...now the symptoms are constant as opposed to before when they would be on and off or when I ate something fattyXanthoma.
When I went into the ER the doctor told me symptom 1 had nothing to do with my gallbladder and it is "something else", she took no time to look into this something else but urged me to get the surgery. I advised the doctor that the pain and the other symptoms always come TOGETHER, never do I have one without the other. She looked at me very puzzled and told me "I dont know". I found that a very unacceptable answer and left. I have an appointment with a gastroenterologist on 7-14-09 and I'm very nervous as to whats going on. The boring diet seems to be working for now...white rice, banana's, white bread, fruits and veggies. All meats including chicken seem to be making me sick so I stay away but I'm going out of my mind!
I guess my question is... Could this possibly be JUST my gallbladder or is there more to it? I've looked around online and all the symptoms fit IBS...but I know there is a close tie between IBS and the gall bladder due to the organsOrgan-1 nr function. I fear that if I get the gallbladder removed it will make the other symptoms worse too! I can not handle these symptoms getting worse...this is a nightmare!
All of your symptoms - except the blood - are consistent with problems having to do with gallstones. However, as you know the same symptoms can be caused by other GI issues, too. You might want to consider having a HIDA scan with CCK injection and make sure your liver and pancreatic enzyme levels are checked, too.
