This summer i was admitted to the hospital for an elective surgery to remove diverticulium that become infected. I had the same laproscopic sigmoid collectomy done seven years ago with good results until the pain and infections began again a year ago. This latest lap had a complication 9 days after the resection
of the adhered bowel i was given an ileostomy. It's now three months later and i have had a dye test which came out good with no leaks, and a colonoscopy which shows no obstructions, but now something different that had not shown up on the colon scans before, Granularity in the entire colon, what could cause this in such a short period of time, and what are the implications. i have never had any different colon problems other than the diverticulitus that caused the local pain and infection.
thank you
Giggy, did they take biopsies? If so, have you read the pathology reports? Granularity can show up due to several different conditions, so this finding should be fully investigated.
