The Past month or so i go to sit down to go to the bathroom and i dont pass a bowel movement but when i go to wipe there is blood coming out of my rectum , i finally took a bowel movement about 10 minutes later! the toilet paper has blood all over it and noticed there was some blood attached to my stool and my stool was greenGreen tea, my stool being greenGreen tea has been going on for about a week but the blood coming out of my rectum has been going on off and on for a month , i feel isnt right ! should i be worried ? I went to see a doctor but he told me its nothing to worry about but it keeps happening! what should i do ? my mom has Diverticulitis shes had problems with her intestines since she was 16 ! Please Help
The only mitigating factorFactor ix complex for your doctor's attitude could be if the cause is minor - such as anal fissure or haemorrhoids - but in that case I would expect the doctor to say "you have an anal fissure...haemorrhoids and there is nothing to worry about".
Unless your (specialist) doctor can offer you a firm diagnosis that the cause is minor I suggest that you request a colonoscopy.
Rectal bleeding is never normal and should always be investigated - and a cause found. Type in rectal bleeding to google and click on one of the many sites. The Medicinenet site is particularly informative and should provide you with additional insight for your next medical consultation which, in view of your doctor's disinterest, should be with a G.I. specialist.
