Gurgling Liver???

I believe my liver is making stomach-like growling and gurgling sounds. I note that the noise is coming from just under my right rib cage. It's even palpable. Is this something serious I need to have checked out? Does it sound like a liver issue and if so, what?
Also, it seems to happen only when I'm seated. There is no pain involved, either. What are some possibilities?

i doubt it's your liver, it's probably your colon or stomach. quite possibly IBS or an allergy to lactose and/or gluten. best thing to do is get an xray and ultrasound and follow up with an upper gi and colonoscopy to rule out anything serious. in the meantime try adjusting your diet to see if that helps.

But...what if it's not coming from the stomach?  What if the gurgling is coming from the opposite side of my abdomen from where my stomach is?

NOT A DOCTOR.
My stomach and esophagus roar and growl because of varices and liver problems, but not the liver itself.  If it's just to the left of the liver it could be portal vein pressure going up and it is painful.  If you are still concerned I seriously recommend seeing a doctor who can easily find out if your liver is healthy or not by blood tests or scans.

I just noticed how old this question was.  If you are still alive, worried and reading this please see a doctor.  Don't wait until it's too late.
LOL!!!  Well your answer helped me, at least...
