HELP!!! IS THIS NORMAL???

Hey!

I am 29 female who just had my gallbladder removed 3 weeks ago.  From what the surgeon said everything went well.  I have a few minor setbacks but have takena  turn for the worse after about 2 weeks.  I have constant nausea whether I eat or not. I am now on day 4 of Prevacid as I thought maybe I had excess stomach acid or something. I also have upper backpain which I can always feel kinda like I have pulled muscles.  Has anyone else felt this way? How long might I have to live with this? I just want to feel better am tired of feeling like this. Please help!

I've had my gallbladder removed..took about 2 weeks for my pain to go away course my nausea never did leave but that was for another reason..

but in your case i've heard of post operative gallbladder surgery problems mostly with the bile duct that can cause nausea and pain like you're talking about.  Usually you have a follow up with the surgeon you had your surgery with, but I would contact them and say that you're having new pains and nausea in that region.  It could be.. I can't remember the exact wording but dumping syndrome but usually I don't think it causes pain and nausea as severe like you're talking about.

But yeah it can get dangerous and I would contact the surgeon you did surgery with and tell them you're having more problems, bile duct issues or leak... it took me a good month before I felt like I did before the surgery but everyone is different.

Just thinking out loud but I would contact the surgeon and ask for advice on what to do *unless he/she is the one that gave you the prevaid...and thinks you're having an ulcer and thats why he gave you prevacid..which it will take some time to heal..not sure but the doctor that perfomed my surgery did the same thing and gave me nexium so it's possible you have an ulcer right now and you just need to relax.  Ulcer's cause heavy nausea and can come after surgery*

I'd avoid spicey fatty foods.. go on a bland easy to digest diet and watch yourself closely.  Don't take tums unless it gets super bad (that just lowers and then raises the Ph balance really bad..but you could try taking tums or some antacid to see if it brings short term relief..if it does then that's a sign you just have an ulcer..)
