HIDA Scan/Gallbladder & Liver

HIDA Scan/Gallbladder & Liver

Hi. My son just turned 14. He has complained of stomach pain for about a year now. We didn't think anything about it until he wasn't cleared for his sports physical 3 weeks ago. He constantly has to use the bathroom, especially after eating. His stools have been pretty loose and change colors frequently but seem to be green more often. He has lost 53 pounds in 2 months and is now complaining of nausea, stomach pain, pain in his upper back aound his right shoulder blade, and has recently started vomitting after meals. He had a fever last Friday and looked very pale. He had an ultrasound last week which came back normal. This AM he had a HIDA scan on his liver and gallbladder. The dr said that if his EF number is between 35 and 80 the gallbladder is normal, if it is below 35 or above 80 it is abnormal. He also told us the procedure for gb removal. He said it would be 2 days before we get the results back. My son said the injection made his stomach hurt very bad and he felt like he was going to vomit. If the HIDA scan comes back normal, what else could be going on? I hate to see him in this much pain and he has lost a considerable amount of weight in a short period of time! We are worried.
