HIDA scan with CCK stimulation

by MH, Jun 17, 2001 12:00AM
Would like to know what this test feels like. My MD indicted that it is very uncomfortable. I do not have gallstones indicated by a sonogram but I may have a malfunctioning gallbladder or gallbladder sludge.    MH

The HIDA scan takes a long time.  They view you for approx 1hr without any meds then they inject you with Kinevac and my experience with that was NASTY.  That drug reproduced my syptoms (symptoms).
The shot didn't hurt, it was the reproduction of symptoms that stunk.  That will last about 1/2 hour.  I got very hot, very sweatty, very-very nauseated and A LOT OF PAIN.
If you are having any biliary problems, this scan will find it.
GOOD LUCK!!!!
