Any time you get nausea and or vomiting, with hot and cold flashes, you should see a doctor, have you taken your temperature during these episodes. There are so many things that cause these types of symptoms, and if it has been going on for a while, it is not just something you had to eat. Good Luck FTB4

Get your gallbladder checked, you might have stones.

You definitely want to see a clinician about this before it gets worse. I'm just a student, but what you describe raises concerns of pancreatitis in my mind. Pancreatitis can be due to an obstruction in the biliary tract--the ducts from the pancreas join with bile ducts from the gall bladder/liver to release digestive enzymes into the small intestine, if those ducts get clogged up, digestive enzymes get trapped in the pancreas and can cause damage to the pancreas. This would also explain the horrible pain, nausea and vomiting. Does the pain also feel as if it's drilling through to your back? That would be a strong indicator of Pancreatic problems.

Regardless, there are still numerous other possible causes for your pain. You need to be evaluated by a clinician soon. There are various blood tests and imaging studies that can be done to help diagnose your problem.

But you wouldn't describe it as a stabbing pain or tearing pain, would you?

Regardless, the pain could be due to so many different things. I hope that you've already made an appointment to see a medical professional about this. I hope you feel better soon.

I used to have pains that would wake me up in the middle of the sleep and it felt like a severe cramp right under my sternum. I would get sweaty and felt sick. I would sit up and try to let it subside. I stopped eating after 8pm and that has helped lots. I now have other symptoms that started afterwards though. I get a pain in sternum area and chest pains. a pain that radiates into my left shoulder. Feel weird lots of times when I walk around. have revenge (trots) most of the time..They said I had a pancreatitis attack and my gall bladder was the problem..wrong!! it is gone and I still have the problems..I wish you the best and hope they can find it..
