Hard black flecks in bowel movement

I have had long term stomach pain and bowel issues, and am waiting an endoscopy. I have noticed recently every time I go to the bathroom that I have tiny black flecks in the bowel movement, they look like poppy seeds and are hard.  I dont eat seeded foods, and the rest of my stool is a normal colour.  Could this be caused by medication such as omeprazole?  If it was blood I would expect the stool to be black or for the blood to be soft, this however is hard tiny black flecks. Can anyone help?
