Has anone had a functional esophagus test

I was asked to have a functional esophagus test. Does anyone know what this is?  I have had Chest pains and have had many different tests,now I am asked to have this test.

In general, if the docs have tried a lot of tests like the EGD and they've already put your on PPIs and not a lot changed, then they're try to find out if the function of the esophagus is impaired. At that point, it's typically thought that they should approach the problem by looking at a 24-hour pH monitoring to see if they can group the symptoms into something that will finally make sense. So it's possible that they're suggesting you have the pH monitoring done.
