Has anyone ever had odd stomach pulsations?

Hi. I'm only fourteen and I've been having these odd stomach sensations the last couple of months. It feels like a heart beat or pulsation directly above my navel and has really been worrying me. One of my best friends also has these sensations, but hers are located further up under the ribs. I've done a lot of research and I don't think that it is an Aortic Aneurism, at least not at our age...Although we do have most of the symptoms of Abdominal Aortic Aneurisms I don't really know if its possible. When I told my mom about it she said to stop diagnosing yourself with fake things you don't really have. I still don't really know and I am worried that it could become worse. My friend has had it for a few years and mine just started back in November or December, although I've felt them at other times before. All that I really want to know is if it is possible at our age, and other symptoms as well. Please respond!

sorry to hear about your concerns.  don't fear.  i've felt the same thing before and found it to be normal.

when you go for your next checkup or any doc visit, i'd ask the physician.  or, if you are really concerned and you have medical insurance coverage, ask your parent if they can take you to the doc, and you pay the copay.  explain that you'd like to have a peace of mind and explain that you are concerned about it because you've had a friend who has had it.  sometimes worry can get the best of us and we begin to feel symptoms, (not saying that you are not experiencing any) but a piece of mind will definitely help and put your mind at ease.  oh, and if you don't have the money for the copay, simply work it off.

It's probably the pulsation from your aorta which a lot of people experience and can see if they're slim. It's doesn't mean that there's something wrong - like ballooning of the aorta. You can often see if and feel it more readily if you're conscious of it, or if you've had a sudder rush of adrenaline for any reason, or are exercising.
