Have had chronic diarrhea for almost 4 years off and on
I had a colonoscopy today, my second one in 3 years. Back in 2005 I had a colonoscopy and 3 polyps removed which where precanerous. I have had chronic diarrhea for almost 4 years off and on, mostly almost like fecal
inconttinece. Today my Dr. ordered some type of blood work that had to be sent off out of my state of Idaho to Utah for testing. When I asked the person who came to take the blood work, she said it was some test that they can look intestinal
. I have had a hystercectomy within the past two years and you would of thought that after all of this someone would tell met what the cause of my diarrhea was. He also told me to take immodium ad for my diaherra (diarrhea). I feel this doc does don't treat the syptoms (symptoms). I am totally confused, first he precribes previacid for acid reflux
which was not the cause of my diaherra (diarrhea), that was after my last colonosocpy in 2005. What type of intestinal test is he testing me for? Could it possibly be Hep C?
Did they do a VIP count (vasoactive intestinal peptide)it takes about 2 weeks to get the results back. When they take the blood they put it on ice and in a purple or pink tube. I have uncontroled diarrhea but mine is caused from vipoma
Octreitide shots help control my diarrhea.
