Heartburn?gallstones? or something more severe? PLEASE HELP! DESPERATE!!

So since Oct 2009 Ive been dealing with this heart burn sensation on and off, Ivd tried everything in the book, changed my diet since Ive gained some weight Ive been doing my share of exercising, tried over the counter and prescription meds as well for the pain and heartburn. The last 2mos have been horrible landed in the ER twice already with shortness of breath from the pain and was prescribes Percocet(which make me feel out of whack) I was told to go back to my dr which I did but she cant figure out what is wrong with me. I have horrible epigastric pains, im starting to get a really raspy sounding voice at times, coughing more than usual, extremely fatigue no energy what so ever to do anything, i just dont feel myself. My dr believes it can be gastritis, gallstones(which i know i have diag when I was pregnant about 31/2 yrs ago) or GI. What i dont get is why they are making me wait so long to get any sort of treatment to make the pain go away. I went for a upper GI xray just yesterday and my dr said it would take awhile to get the results but i cant take this pain any longer. can some one please HELP!!!

If you have gallstones then you probably need your gallbladder taken out before it gets worse.  You do not want an emergency gallbladder surgery.  I would get another GI Dr and discuss this.  If your dr keeps making you wait then that is not acceptable and its time to find another doctor.

Thank you, I did get a GI xray done everything came back ok no ulcer nothing at all...but just this past Thursday I went back into the ER diagnosed with gallstones AGAIN so my pain seems to be related to that ...they didnt keep me due to my insurance so im still dealing with my primary physician which isnt taking me very seriously. thank you again

An xray is instant, and the radiologist normally reads it within 1-3 days.  I think you need an endoscopy, so they can see everything from your throat to your stomach.  Percocet is only pain meds so they just masked the symptoms.  If you have a GI doc, call and tell them it's an emergency that you get in to see the doctor.  If the pain is too bad, go back to the ER and tell them you want a diagnosis, it sounds to me like you need to be admitted to the hospital so they can keep you pain free and get the necessary tests done.  Good luck and take care.
