with constant bile diarrhea which is changing my ability to function. I do not have cramping with this diarrhea, it's just sudden and sometimes uncontrollable causing embarrasing accidents. I have had a colonoscopy which was clear and my gastro dr. put me on Lotronex which causes cramping in my left side, nausea and painful
I'm so sorry you've suffered through so much! I'm not a Doc and know nothing about medicine but I've heard of some things that MIGHT help with your diarrhea:
•Cholestyramine (http://www.drugs.com/ppa/cholestyramine.html and http://members.tripod.com/~jerrytx_2/bsd1.html);
•Colesevelam (http://www.medicinenet.com/colesevelam/article.htm);
•Colestipol (www.medicinenet.com/colestipol/article.htm);
•Questran (www.rxlist.com/questran-drug.htm);
•Prevalite (www.drugs.com/mtm/prevalite.html); and
•LoCholest (www.drugs.com/mtm/locholest-light.html)
You'd want to discuss each option with whichever medical professional is in charge of your care and talk about soluble fat, cholesterol issues and anything else related to with long-term medications.
There is also something called Dr. Fowler's Wild Strawberry Extract (http://www.fowlersrelief.ca/Pages/ClassOfProducts.aspx?ClassID=3) that has worked very well for me in the past but I'm in Canada. With your very detailed history, please check anything and everything out with your Doc, your GI and/or your surgeon before trying anything, even over-the-counter stuff!
It would be great to hear how you make out and what finally "cures" you, if you can find the time.
