Help me, I'm losing my mind! Diarrhea, gagging, heart burn, fatigue, mucusy...

I've had issues with foul-smelling gas and diarrhea for a few years. I attributed it to me being lactose intolerant (I was never tested) and try to avoid dairy. This seems to help most of the time, but although it has reduced occurrences, it has not gone away completely.

The last few months I have been experiencing bouts of nausea, burning sensations in my lower abdomen, heart burn, and extreme fatigue. I have diarrhea everyday. I went to the doctor for this, had every blood test possible and was tested for Crohn's Disease. My tests came back and there was nothing wrong with me; my stats were perfect. The strangest new symptom is gagging. I will be eating and it seems almost as though the food suddenly alters in flavor and I begin gagging and cannot swallow anymore. This is followed by nausea, but I never vomit. The gagging sometimes happens when I'm not eating. I suddenly start coughing and gagging out of nowhere; this sometimes happens when I think about food as well. I always feel like I have mucus in my throat, and clearing my throat or coughing doesn't bring it up and I feel like I can't swallow it. I've also had blood with my stools lately, but it's bright red, not black. What could this be? Are these symptoms all interconnected?

I would recommend asking for a colonoscopy and an endoscopy which look for a variety of things.

Yes I have and it came back negative. I'm going to try to get an appointment with my doctor this week. I hate going so I've been putting it off. I guess I was hoping for some direction on what it could be so I could possibly reduce the amount of time spent getting tests that'll just come back negative.

Welcome to the gastroenterology community!  Have you been tested for celiac disease?  I would recommend seeing a gastroenterologist again because of the blood in your stools.
