Help please

Hi...

New here and would appreciate help. I've been sick over the past 3 weeks (I have Vertigo) and have not been eating much. Been drinking a lot from sheer depression. Last night I had to go the ER because I was so dehydrated and malnourished. Dumb, I know...

In January I had my bloods done and my AST and ALT were both around 35....last night they came in at 657 and 552 respectively!!!! I can't even imagine that...

Does anyone know if my being sick and kinda binging could spike them that radically that fast?

And will they recede? I've quit the binge, I'm terrified...

Thanks for any help here, I'm having trouble finding much about spikes in these numbers...

Those certainly are concerning numbers.  Possible causes (amongst others)  can include liver toxicity - with medications and alcohol, congestive heart failure, hepatitis, or gallbadder disease

At this time, I would consider blood tests looking for hepatitis, as well as a liver ultrasound.

Serial measurements should be done to ensure the values aren't rising.  If they are, a liver biopsy can be considered.

These options can be discussed with your personal physician.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.

btw...when I got to the ER I had a blood alcohol level of 2.6 and hadn't eaten in 3 days.

I hope this is just an abberation due to the incident. Needless to say the binge is over.

Thanks Again
