I do not have enough experience to say why Hemorrhoidlysis is
painfulPainful menstrual periods in your case. You are
correctCorrect (new formula) in saying that most of the cases are painless. If there continues to be pain, you may want to be re-examined by another opinion to ensure there isn't anything else going on, other than the hemorrhoids, or there is no infection present in the area.
Another consideration would be some kind of endoscopy (i.e. flexible sigmoidoscopy) that would examine for other anorectal diseases.
