Hemorrhoids?? Again??

by Frustrated182, Oct 10, 2005 12:00AM
I recently had hemorrhoid banding of four hemorrhoids.  (about a month ago)  My symptoms were itching when walking, slight bleeding, and an inability to completely clean my anus after using the bathroom.  After the surgery I was still having pretty nasty itching when I walked.  (My job requires me to walk a lot)  I started having trouble getting clean a few days ago without using a moist wipe.  The itching has returned and its horrible again.  Today I noticed more blood.  I'm quite sure I have hemorrhoids again.  Yesterday was my 20th birthday...I feel like I'm too young to be going through this.  I'm trying to join the military and I'm quite sure this is a disqualification.

I've been trying to pinpoint the cause of this problem.  I sing a lot in my car, i often catch myself "sucking my gut in" and not completely relaxing it, I walk a lot, and I spend about an hour a day or more sitting in my car.  What could be causing this misery??? Please help me...

Hemorrhoids can be refractory to conservative treatment.  There are various options to consider as the next step.  This can include minimally invasive techniques such as cryotherapy, sclerotherapy, banding, or laser coagulation.

If the hemorrhoids continue, then surgery may be needed.

You may want to confirm the diagnosis of hemorrhoids by pursuing a sigmoidoscopy to exclude any more serious causes of bleeding.

These options can be discussed with your personal physician.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.

Hi.  I too am very young and am having problems with hemorrhoids.  I can't seem to find any info. on young people with hemorrhoids.  I have had symptoms since I was 12 or younger than I can remember, but I didn't know it was hemorrhoids until I saw a gynecologist and he told me I had one.  He told me to use preparation H.  I think it may be time for me to see a specialist because it doesn't seem to be helping.  I'm 24.  I can't believe I have hemorrhoids!  I don't know what is causing it.  It's really making me miserable.  It's mainly just the external itching that is bothering me. I've never really been habitually constipated.  I guess my diet could be low in fiber?  If you get any useful info. please pass it on. Thanks!

See your doctor.  You may have what is called pruritis ani, or anal itch...its a pain and they can't figure out if I have it or not.  Do you walk a lot?  My doctor said that it was probably all the walking I do that causes mine...

Have you let your Dr know you are bleeding?  I have had the banding done once and the second time I went in teh hemorrhoids were 2 small.  When he did the first one he may have been able to band some but not all.  Also my Dr. prescribed me anamantal HC and cream (better than ove the counter)  what he told me is that I need to use this consistantly for at least 4 months to get rid of th hemrrhoids. Once you have them you can easily get them back because.

Hope this helps.

Good Luck, Amelia

Hi everyone? I am 28 years of age, and have been suffering from Hemorrhoids for the past 8 - 10 years, I have never required any hospital treatment. But here a few ideas which may help. I find lying on my stomach really helps my rectal pain, but does not settle them down. I once heard that people try to push the Hemorrhoid back into there anus. I tried, but failed. If you do attempt this, use a Hemorrhoid cream as well. I also put it down to poor diet, weak abdominal and pelvic muscles. Stretching my lower back and hamstrings I found to relieve the discomfort. Warm bath, and lastlypulling your bottom and abdominal muscles in whilt you walk.. I hope a least one of these suggestion helps..
