My sister had similar problems, except she vomited with hers. She had Hida Scan. Drs said her Gallbladder was non functioning. Had it taken out last week. She said she was feeling better.
Does anyone out there have a similar problem? I have suffered with this off and on for 8 years. Nothing the Drs have given me has helped. Hope the Hida Scan does find non-functioning GB. At least I can hope to feel a little relief soon.
Does sound like Gall Bladder the pain its triggered by eating, I expect it comes on an hour or two after food, I found I corrected my diet I went onto Low Fat , do not eat the foods that are listed there is a whole range you can and cannot eat, put it into the Search Engine it gives a lot of detail about pros and cons of having it removed, I am going the Natural route, did you get a rash Hives or did that go awayt
My pain is a dull steady one that increases usually about bedtime to a more unconfortable aching pain. I have to get up and take GAS x or something to try to relieve the pain. Sometimes it turns to a diareah, as soon as diareah is over, I feel pretty confortable the rest of the night. I do drink a lot of coffee, I understand that this might be making it worse.
I very seldom eat greasy or fatty foods. I eat lots of veggies and beef mainly. I dont eat much fried food or desserts, mainly because I am trying to watch my weight. I am 55 years old, weight 150 lb. I have had test done on my kidneys, MRIs on my spine, abdominal cat scan, nothing seems to pinpoint what is causing this. I have tried watching what I eat. does not help much. Does anyone think this is my gallbladder?
I had the itching skin, but didnt get any bumps or sore spots. My head did get tiny blisters in it, right in the very back at my neckline. Itched like crazy. This itching lasted for about two weeks. Do you have gallbladder syptoms (symptoms) similar to mine? Like I said in an earlier post, I have had everything except vomiting. I have been taking prilocect (spelling wrong) for two years now. I can't tell that it is helping with anything. Please can anyone relate to all my symptoms, dull pain under right ribcage raidating arround to the back on right side, sometimes a sharp shooting pain, Bloating is so bad when the dull pain comes that I can't stand anything tight at all arround my waist. (Where my clothes touches the skin under ribs on right side it makes it ache and burn). I am really hoping it is a non functioning gallbladder. I would take the risk of GB surgury if I thought I had a chance to feel better. Like I said, Drs. have sent me for two GB ultrasounds which came back OK.
The Dr. I have now is very understanding, and is sending me for another Ultrasound, and if it is negative again, she is doing a Hida Scan. I would appreciate any comments on my situation.
