Hello. I went to the ER this weekend and was diagnosed with a urinary tract infection - yuk. They did a CT scan just to make sure all looked good and it did. The ER doctor said I had a small cyst on my liver, but no big deal. My blood work all came out just fine. However, my internist is having me do an MRI to get a better look at the cyst. Is this standard operating procedure when a cyst has been found? Many thanks for any advice - I've never been through this before...Gaye
You will be fine, nothing to worry about, they just want to make sure that its not too huge and its not cancerous. It is perfectly normal to be freaked out. I work for a urogynecology office that is one of the best around in the Western, NY area and when something like this happens to one of our pt
You are so kind - thank you. I have never had a cyst before so this whole thing has freaked me out a little. According to the CT scan it's barely a 1/2 inch so hopefully this isn't considered big. I have the MRI tonight with results from my internist tomorrow - hopefully it will be a relaxing weekend! Thank you so much - it's nice to know that there are people out there who can be comforting...Gaye
Thanks, bip. The procedure seemed to go fine tonight - should have the results from my internist tomorrow. I see that you're from Lowell, MA - I use to do some work up there. Thank you again for your reassurance...gaye.
Thank you thank you thank you - all is well! Just plan cysts that don't require any further investigation!! Friday the 13th has turned out to be a great day!
