Also, even though most of my son symptoms are GI related, a cardiologist is the one who diagnosed him. The racing heart and near fainting are blood pressure/heart rate issues.
Treatment varies. With my son, he has tried many meds and some symptoms are better, but the nausea persists. It is trial and error. What works for one person, might not work for another.
Some people do fully recover, while others deal with ups and downs with it forever. I've read that the older you are when it occurs, the chances of it going away are much smaller.
Some teens take until their early 20's to recover. My son is only 15 and has been dealing with this for a couple of years, but daily for the past year.
Hopefully, you don't have this, but I like to make people aware since many people go years without a diagnosis.
Can you get rid of this? what is the treatment?
It wasn't my intention to scare you. But if you have it then a quicker diagnosis helps you mentally. It took us over 3 years to get the right diagnosis for my son. We went from doctor to doctor, and they all kept telling us it was anxiety. The doctors all basically wrote him off. So after seeing a psychologist, she determined it definitely wasn't anxiety. She researched his symptoms and got us going in the right direction.
Once we found the doctors to treat him, this took a load off. We actually had doctors telling my son that this wasn't in his head, which, mentally made him feel a little better.
You are describing a lot of the symptoms also associated with dysautonomia (or autonomic dysfunction). Do some research on this and see if this could possibly be it. There are a lot of symptoms that can occur with this and doctors don't usually put it together to come up with this diagnosis. The website below lists a lot of the possible symptoms.
