IPMN, ULQ Pain - help!

I have an 8mm x 6 mm IPMN (small mucosal cyst that appears to communicate with the side-branches of the pancreatic duct.  I had an endoscopy, ERCP, and MRCP with MRI.  They feel that because this is so small, it should just be monitored with imaging yearly.  If it increases it size it should then be removed.  In addition, I started having pain in a very exact spot to the left and slightly above my belly-button.  I couldn't exactly determine when it started - maybe after eating, with stress???  I have had this for about one year.  They did not look for this when doing the endoscopy and have said maybe they should go back in to look for ulcer, etc.  However, it recently seems to b e worsening.  It now seems to be located upper left/right along my rib-cage.  I did have three indicators or pancreatitis (hyperechoic stranding, etc.) but nothing that satisfied the criteria anyway.  This morning it was pretty strong pain, started about 20 minutes after having coffee and lasted about 2 hours.  Any ideas??

You say you're pain started about twenty min. after coffee. I also have IPMN and chronic pancreatitis. I have pain all the time so I didn't associate it with coffee butt I recently read how bad coffee is with this disease. (I had to question why my gastro dr. did.nt know this)in any case, try cutting out coffee and see if you still get the pain. Do any other foods or drink bother you?
