Ileoanal pouch and fertility

Please could someone help me. I am 36 years old and my partner and I have been trying for a baby for a year with no luck. I had a J-pouch op in 1996 when I was 22 and I only found out yesterday that recent research shows that infertility occurs for most women with pouch surgery and I am in shock at the thought of never conceiving, particularly as I had life threatening adhesion complications shortly after the first op which wasn't picked up for 2 months. I also suffer with horrific pain each month since the surgery 13 years ago and ignorantly assumed this was the norm. I am now getting in contact with my specialist and so on to have fertility tests, but has anyone out there become pregnant since having a J-pouch? I need some positive news, please, I'm so anxious, all I've ever wanted is a family. Regards, Julie x
