Ileostomy and Gallbladder Surgery

I just found out that I have a prolapsed bladder. Since the bladder is pulling the uterus along with it, it was suggested I have a Hystorectomy and will also remove the ovaries.Then they will tack my bladder. I am 55. Upon receiving a CT scan, it was discovered that I have a pretty good size gallstone. I have never had any problems with it. Now I am being told I should have my Gallbladder removed. They are going to do the bladder and Hystorectomy and Gallbladder removal all at the same time.
I have an Ileostomy and have been trying to find out if I should be careful about having all of this done. I am concerned about post surgery. Is this surgery to remove the gallbladder going to affect my digestive system? Some of the postings mention horribe bloating and diarrhea. Are there any dangers I should worry about as opposed to someone without an Ileostomy. I have been told not to just let any surgeon do this. Any advice you can give me I would appreciate very much.

Any GI surgery would have a chance to affect the digestive system. Although uncommon, diarrhea - especially after a fatty meal - may persist after gallbladder surgery.
Given your medical history, this should be discussed with your surgeon. If there is concern, I would consider having the procedure done at a major academic medical center.
These options should be discussed with your personal physician.
