Immunostaining after endoscopy

Immunostaining after endoscopy

My 68 year old mother recently had an endoscopy  to try to see why she was having so much stomach discomfort and loss of appetite.  Immediately after the test, the Dr. said she had three 'masses' that didn't look like any gastric ulcer he'd ever seen but also didn't look like any gastric cancer he'd ever seen. This did nothing to ease our worries.  At any rate, today, we get a call that the biopsies are back and that they need permission to send one of the 'samples' to the local hospital for immunostaining.  I inquired if they suspected cancer and the nurse, of course, told me not to worry.  Mother  had been diagnosed with h pylori a month before. Am I being too hopeful thinking that the immunostaining could be being performed to see if the h pylori was erradicated? She does seem to be feeling a lot better lately though her appetite is still poor.  Does anyone know anything about biopsy results and 'immunostaining?'  Googling the word doesn't help much. Thanks for any assistance you can offer me.
God bless you.
