The pain that you describe - lower left side and constant
urgeUrge incontinence to have a bowel movement, suggests a lower GI problem, rather than an upper GI one (i.e. the stomach). I would suggest a
colonoscopy for further evaluation and to rule out things like
inflammatoryInflammatory bowel disease
Ulcerative colitis bowel disease, polyps or cancer.
If there is suspicion about the stomach, an upper endoscopy would be the test of choice. Other tests to consider would be an abdominal ultrasound and 24-hr pH study.
A digital rectal exam as well as a transrectal ultrasound to evaluate the prostate can be considered to further evaluate the prostate, which certainly can cause the continual groin and lower back pain.
Followup with your personal physician is essential.
