Indegestion or something else?

for over a year iv been having issues at night after i eat where i will feel really bloated and nauseous.  I would dry heave, sometimes yellow or green bile, but never actual vomit.  it has landed me in the ER a couple of times, and each time i was told i was "totally backed up"  However, i take lactulose twice a week (or when needed) and even if i empty, the last few times iv gotten sick, they were on those days

I have had a upper endo, that showed nothing other than a sore and red stomach. A colon exam that removed a harmless polyp and a gull bladder test that showed mild to moderate bile reflux

For a while i thought it was gastroparesis but my GP ruled that out after the upper endo, coupled with the fact that i dry heave instead of vomit.

My doctor put me on a prilosec 40mg / sodium bicarbonate and since then i have been getting sick every few weeks (10-12 weeks) instead of twice a week.

When i get sick, the last dozen or so times i have had very heavy grease or dairy products.

I got sick last night after a chicken sandwich with mayo and right after a sunday with whipped cream. At the same time, the same foods can not make me sick at all.  I have had a similar ice cream sunday and not felt anything

I dont think its gastroparises because there is usually no food in my stomach when im sick.  sometimes my stomach is still "sore" the day after and my prilosec helps me eat in the morning

Also, what seems to help is taking the lactulose and making me fart or go to the bathroom

im a loss.  my doc seems to think it is in fact bile reflux but i wanted to see what you guys think

if it was really gastroparises, it would not come one day, be "fixed" so easy and then just vanish for weeks, could it?

i think it probably has a lot to do with what you are eating. Some things are easier to digest than others

well i have no idea then, because only maybe 1/8 of the food came back up and the rest was mucus/acid

doubtful. It usually takes like 3-4 hours for stomach to empty. so maybe 25% of your food would be gone by the 45min mark.

Thanks. I started just eating dry foods and chicken.   Trying to eliminate acids foods but it's tough.

Question tho,  if I eat and 45 min later I get sick due to acid reflux or indigestion and throw up only a very small portion of food, does that mean the majority of food already left my stomach?

you need to heal your gut. Only way to do that is to eliminate all stomach irritants. Its not fun, cuz you need to cut out all the crappy food. But thats how you get better. NO gluten, dairy, red meat, fried food, faty food, or highly acidic foods.
Take a strong probiotic. This will help. I know you're probably looking for an easy answer, but most of the time with the digestive system, the answers just never are easy.

well thats the thing.  one thing can bother me today, then not a few times.  its totally random.  I felt ok yesterday to have a piece of cake, but after i was done, i felt super bloated and felt like i could not burp.  I took a couple of gasx chewables and felt better a couple hours later

each person digests food differently. And just so you know, a1 sauce is acidic. you cant eat that. Shouldnt be eating steak either, and definitely not multiple times a week. Red meat should only be eaten once a week, if at all. Its very hard to digest.
Keep a food journal of everything you eat and drink, as well as how you feel afterwards and your bowel movements. This should give you insight on what bothers you and what doesnt.

so tiny update, my stomach is weird.  i think its just massive indegestion

a few nights ago i had steak and felt fine.  Then laster that night i had the same steak but added a1 sauce and got sick.  two nights ago i had another steak but a1 to start and get sick right away.  I threw up about 45 min later but it was only about a small portion of the potatoes i ate, rest was mucus / dry heaves, can the food have digested that fast?

thanks for the help.  Checked the symptoms of GP and it seems that me being able to finish a whole meal kind of rules it out

thanks for the advice.  The chances that i have gastroparesis are pretty low you think?  I mean i can keep food down and if i do throw up, its just dry heaving

get tested for food allergies. And your stomach lining is damaged so stay away from fried foods, dairy, gluten, acidic foods, etc. All of them are stomach irritants.
