Intestine issue

by Kim046718, Aug 09, 2009 05:21PM
I'm a 41 year old female, about three years ago I started  having what I think is a colon issue.  I have not seen a Dr. because this issue seems to come and go.  I can manage it on my own for now but I can't seem to find anything on the web with my symptoms that fit a diagnosis.

What happens when I have an attack or flare up:  When I have to uriniate I will have pain (pinching feeling) where my bladder is located.  It is worse when my bladder is full and is painful until it is empty.  It stays tender but not painful when my bladder is empty - this pain will also be present if I need to pass gas or have a bowl movement.  It feels painful as the gas/bowl is passing that area and then goes away after.  I don't feel any other symptoms - no diarrhea or feeling ill,  I'm able to eat and work.
This continues for about 24 hours, then the pain almost goes totally away but my upper intestines seem to feel "inflamed" after.  I feel a little bloated and a dull persistent inflamed feeling just in my upper intestine area (above my navel area to my diaphram area - that entire area where your intestines are) this pain/inflamation continues for another 24-48 hours.  I still have no other symptoms, I feel just fine except for the inflamed slight pain feeling.

I haven't been able to pin point a certain food that may trigger the attacks - only once I had popcorn and the next day I had an attack.  I was wondering if this could be diverticulitis. I fit some of the symptoms of diverticulitis, but I don't see anyone complaining of the "inflamed" feeling that I experience the next day. These episodes happen about 4 times a year.
