I've had intractable hiccups on and off for well over 10 years. It's not the same as the regular hiccups people get.
I'm not sure because I just started, but I'm trying ginger caps daily (started this week). So far, we will see.
Alphonso, I wasn't speaking of a surgeon, I was speaking of therapists who work with visceral manipulation. It works in many cases, and it's worth a try. It will not cause harm, nor will it leave anyone in pain - or worse.
I've had them for nine years and i understand that if surgery goes wrong on the phorenic nerve you will need to be on life support machine...I didn't want that Myself.

Thanks for your suggestion. I will seek this treatment if/when I can find qualified medical personnel.
Thanks again.
You may want to contact someone who has a lot of experience working with visceral manipulation of the phrenic nerve. It is often implicated in diaphragmatic hiccupping. If it's trapped along the route from the neck to the diaphragm it may be contributing to the problem.......not sure how the surgery/pacemaker will impact the issue, however.
