Thank you for your response. I have been worrying about this so I'm glad to know it's normal and that I have nothing to be worrying about.
Pieces aren't really that much different from a one-piece stool. It may just mean that your system is segmenting the fecal material into smaller sections as your way of processing things. Unless you're experiencing blood, diarrhea or something that could be considered very unusual, you're probably quite normal.

Stool may float from fibers (vegetables, cereals...). If the stool is whitish, sticky, foul smelling, this is from excess fats, what is a sign of fat malabsorption.
