I am a runner male and 36. I have been runnign between 20-40 miles a week for about 2 years. I run 5k races for fun locally. Anyhow, I have been for the last month getting side pains on my right side where my upper abdominal muscle meets my ribcage when running. It only occurs at very fast paces and after about 2 miles. I ran a race Saturday and almost could not finish it. Today, I can press on the area and it is still tender. If it were truly a stitch it would not still be tender would it?
Also, I have not had these all summer until the last month. I have tried not eating 2 hours before running, alternating breathing, stretching , several things and they dont work. I have a race in 2 weeks and I dont want to end up walking. Any ideas?
