Is this normal post-op pain from gastric bypass surgery?

I had my surgery on Monday, July 20th, 2009.  I was moderately uncomfortable for the first two post-op days, more uncomfortable the second, which was my day of discharge.  Thursday was the worst but when I finally passed gas, life seemed much better and up seemed the only way to go.

Friday was fine, but I still felt stress at the staple/suture sites internally.  I went out to see my backyard flock and did a bit more work than I should have, perhaps.  Now I burn and hurt and can't rest well.  I'm back to icing my sorest incision and looking for encouragement from someone with experience.
