Hi I had a course of antibiotic for H. Pylori and it didn't work. I am taking Manuka Honey and it's only four days and I am feeling all better. Try Manuka Honey preparably from New Zealand, it works for me and I had the problem for a long time, my Doctor misdiagnosed me. I never been feeling better until now, since the problem started.
hi there i have the same problem too, i was treated for h-pylori in march and felt great, for a couple of weeks afterwards, but slowly all the symptoms have come back, sickness ,bleaching, back &chest pain, sore stinging pains in stomach which really reacts badly to any kind of juice , alcohol, fruit ect. i'm eating the most plainest of things and have had to give up everything that i used to enjoy, and i still have loads of trouble. i've tried all different meds (been on ppi's since feb)and even have a camera down my stomach (but no biopsy) they said my stomach was fine.no one will retest me for hp as they say the treatment should have worked,i really can't understand it, it's completely ruining my life, would it not be common sense to retest? let me know how u get on and if u get any better. does seem strange the the antibiotics makes it all go away the when they are stopped it comes back. u can get tested online some place in oxford but not whether to trust them or not.
hello, and thanks for the quick answer :)
But the last test i had show that h.pylori had eradicated, if h.pylori is no more present what could be the problem?.. one wierd thing is that the pain was gone for some days after the treatment and now is back..
thanks in advance
Just because you have continuing pain after H. pylori treatment it may not mean the H. pylori is still present. H. pylori is implicated in the development of gastritis, and your pain may be coming from that. You may want to check for the presence of H. pylori with a breath test, which is a more definitive way of finding out whether or not it's still there after the use of antibiotics. In the meantime, you may want to talk to your doc about using some medication to tamp down your production of acid which can be a result of infection by H. pylori. You may also want to consider following a GERD diet which can help keep your acid levels lowered.
You could also consider the use of probiotics which have been shown to help with treatment of H. pylori issues in some cases.
Many docs automatically put those with H. pylori on a course of proton pump inhibitors after antibiotic therapy. They expect continuing problems.
