I've never been able to burp.

My whole life as long as I can remember I've been unable to burp. After meals I always have a gas buildup and have a strong urge that feels like I would need to burp but I just can't. I do eat fast which I know causes air to build up and cause this but what I want to know is why I can't burp. The closest thing I can do to burping is a gurgling that happens after meals if I'm lucky. Please help I'm concerned!!!
