It's been 3 days since gall bladder was removed. Stool softners aren't working, so can I take a laxative, such as ex-lax now?

Have you tried something like a ducolax suppository? I've tried the 'by mouth' stool softeners and they didn't do a darned thing for me. Used the suppository and it did work.
But in general, call your doc. It's the safest thing to do.
