Laxatives not working?

I was recently prescribed lactulose to deal with constipation, but it doesn't seem to work. I took 45 ml, 60 ml, then 120 ml for three days, about five days ago, but it hasn't produced a bowel movement. Just for reference, the recommended dosage for treating constipation is 15-30 ml/day. 60 ml is supposed to produce diarrhea, but so far, it has only resulted in some gas and bloating.

What kind of problem might this indicate? I don't think I am impacted, since was still able to produce BMs just recently. Could it be that I ate a relatively low volume of food as of late?
