Lesions

Unfortunately my sister was diagnosed with cancer.  Of course we are still learning all the things you seem to learn with a serious illness.  She's had endoscopy tests, and several biopsies.  After her initial endoscope, the doctors told her (and she could see the pictures herself) that her liver had approximately 15 lesions.  What exactly are lesions -- is that just another word for a tumor?

Yes, a lesion is another term for tumor or mass which could be either benign or malignant. Hope your sister makes a full recovery.
