Lipase

Hi guys, have been having upper left ab pain for over a month some mid burning. My lipase has been mildly elevated, also my ca 19 (panc tumor marker) is double norm and double what it was 4 wks prior. Dr did say pancreatitis and other factors could cause this to rise. My dad died of PC so I am scared I have it. My ab US, CT w dye and EUS were all clear. My dr and the dr that did my EUS said that they do not think its pancreatitis as it does not present this way, nor last this long, they say doubtfully cancer too. I know scans can miss PC which scares me more

What else could cause the pancreas to be inflammed or for lipase to stay mildy elevated?

Well I had an ab US showed no stones, a CT with dye and an EUS (endo ultra sound)-All were clear-they showed nothing, not even pancreatitis. I am scared that cancer is being missed

How are your blood sugars and triglycerides/cholesterol?  Those made my hubby have acute pancreatitis.  I'm stunned a GI doc would say that Pancreatitis doesn't present that way and that it doesn't last that long... that's absurd!  There are people with chronic pancreatitis and I knew a woman last year that had her entire pancreas removed because of it.

Since there is a history of cancer has a oncologist checked you out or is this all primary care and/or GI doc?

Other things to consider - gall bladder (stones AND functionality), stomach issues like gastritis... I'm sure there are more...

Do you have any other symptoms?  Good luck and God bless!
