Liver Hemangioma?

After months of upper quad pain I finally requested copies of my medical records. My doc (gastro) missed the fact I had a 2 cm lesion on my liver found on ultrasound looking at my gallbladder. (Nothing wrong with gallbladder) After bringing this to his attention he promptly sent me for an MRI. I have trouble beleiving anything he says now and am changing doctors. In the interim, the radiology report is driving me nuts.
I've done tons of research on hemangiomas of the liver because the report says it "shows characteristis consistent with a hemangioma". I think of myself as being somewhat intellegent but can find no information regarding one statement in the report linking it to a hemangioma.
I had an MRI with contrast and it says all the typical hemangioma information EXCEPT "The center of the lesion does not enhance even at 7 minutes postcontrast administration".
My mother died at age 42 of a rare form of primary liver cancer. She had the same pain as I'm having. By the time they found the cancer it was too late. From the research I've done. This center "scaring" in typical of some liver cancers.
Am I freaking out for nothing? Can hemangiomas have no blood flow in the center when they are only 2 cm?

I only have "spells" when the pain can be said to be intollerable. I do take pain pills though for fibromyalgia so that may be hiding some of it. Lortab is what I usually take. I try not to take it unless I have to.
I hate being told it's in my head. If you hear that tell him he better find out whats in your head that's causing the pain and fix that because your not making it up!  No one LIKES to be in pain I think doctors just get irritated when they can't find the problem and move on to the next person. Don't let them give up on you. Find a new doctor if you have to.
One more thing, medical records are YOURS. Call the doctor and tell them you want copies of the radiology reports and everything in your file. Look through it all and see if anything has been missed. Doctors are human. If something has not been addressed, bring it to their attention and ask questions.

Our pain sounds pretty much alike.  Mine is constant, but at times even with the pain pills that I am on 24/7 the pain is almost intollerable.  My best time of day is when I wake in the morning.  Then the longer I am up the worse it gets.  Many nights I cry myself to sleep like a baby because of it.  I have been to two gastro doctors, had my gallbladder taken out (they thought I had a stone but none was present at that time).  I have had a CAT scan,MRI, MRCP, colonscopy and endoscopy.  All tests says that I am fine.  I go back to the dr on Tues and I know he will tell me that he has done all that he can do.  I'm afraid that he will tell me it is all in my head and take away the pain pills.  I have tried to take myself off of them but the pain is too harsh and I have a very demanding job where I have to make it thru the day.  Are you on any pain killers?

It comes and goes daily. Sometimes it's a dull pain under my ribs and other times it's the same pain in my back (same level just in the back). Other times I'm sure it's apendicitis because it is sharp but then the pain goes away. I feel like I'm just crazy. Doc was sure it was my gallbadder but that seems to be normal. The only thing they can find is the lesion.

Would you mind discribing your pain to me?  Is it a constant pain or one like an attack?  Does it radiate to your back?

I was just reading your concern and I just wanted to ask you if you were ever told about Carsinoid Syndrome?  My mother in-law was just diagonsed with it.  She had many lesions/ tumors on her liver.  It is a rare disease.  Just something you may want to mention to the doctors.
