Dear doctor
My name is Roman and Im 24 years old I came from europe.Last year I was in US and I came back with Mononucleosis.I was in hospital and I had to keep strict diet. After 2,5 months doctors in Czech told me that my liver tests are OK and I can stop with diet and live normal live.I started to live normal life like young man sometimes beer,party...All the time I was still feeling pressure in liver area and itching especially after some gerasy food or alcohol.I didnt care to much.Three month ago(it was 8 month after mononucleosis)I felt big pain in the liver area so stopped drinking and I started keep diet.No fat, fried, greasy food just white meat and vegetables. After 2 weeks was eveything OK.But since that time I still have itching, pressure, pale stool(light brown)and right now for example when I putting my shoes on I have a small pain in the liver area. These are my symptomps only.Yestreday I went to doctor to make all blood test and next week Im going at ultrasound. Can you tell me please what kind of problem I have and if it's serious? And what's the treatment and what should I do?Im so young and Im in big stress and Im very scared.Thank you very much.Roman

Tough to say without the benefit of the blood test results or examination.  The liver function tests as well as the ultrasound is a reasonable first step to explore what is going on.

Pale stools can be indicative of biliary obstruction (caused by a stone for instance), and itching can be a symptom of biliary sclerosis.  Again, the ultrasound and liver function tests would be the first steps in diagnosing these diseases.

I would followup these results with your personal physician or consider a gastroenterology referral.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.
